A scientific paper based on the Ph.D. thesis of our student Ing. M. Heczko, titled „Shear Deformation of Nonmodulated Ni2MnGa Martensite: An Ab Initio Study“ has been selected as an  Editor’s Choice for 2024 in the journal Shape Memory and Superelasticity. The paper presents quantum-mechanical simulations examining the effect of shear deformation on nonmodulated martensite in the magnetic shape memory alloy Ni₂MnGa.
