Dr. Marek Doubrava from the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering (FME, BUT) achieved significant recognition at the 20th International Conference on Materials and Technologies in Defense and Security (MaTeDaS), held in Lednice under the auspices of the University of Defence. Competing against strong international peers from both academic and military sectors representing Czechia, Slovakia, and Poland, he secured an excellent 2nd place in the best oral presentation category.
This achievement comes exactly three years after Dr. Doubrava won 1st place in the same category at this conference. This year, his presentation focused on the institute's latest research regarding the restoration of worn components. His work continuously demonstrates that Cold Spray technology is a true game-changer for high-performance materials, offering efficient ways to repair critical parts and enhance surface properties.
The event also provided a great platform for building strategic partnerships. We would like to express excitement for upcoming collaboration, which aims to utilize Cold Spray technology to advance ballistic protection. Our thanks go to the organizers from the University of Defence for a perfectly managed event and an engaging program. Next year, the conference will move to Slovakia, hosted by the Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín.
